Payments

• Makani Beach Club accepts payment with cash, credit cards and bank transfer. Kindly contact us in case of a payment via bank transfer (additional transaction fees may apply)
• Makani Beach Club requires payment at reception (by 5pm) on your first day

Cancellations

Based on receipt of the cancellation notice the cancellation fees are calculated as follows:

• up to 30th day before arrival 20 %
• from the 29th until 22th day before arrival 30 %
• from 21th until 15th. day before arrival 50 %
• from 14th until 3rd day before arrival 75 %
• from 1st day before arrival and no show 100 %

Cancellation is possible at any time, please contact us via e-mail or phone

Cash refund is not possible after payment, however a voucher (valid for 2 years) will be issued for the value of any unused portion of courses, rental or storage

Please be advised that event organisers and tour operators may have their own conditions & cancellation policies. If you have booked through a 3rd party, please refer to them

Working hours

Makani Beach Club is open from 9:00 am until sunset every day. Due to safety reasons, kitesurfing is not permitted before or after the opening hours, as the beach staff and the rescue boat are not present.

Three Corners Hotels & Resorts, food vouchers

The food voucher for kiters, and their immediately family or partner, staying all-inclusive at an El Gouna Three Corners Hotel:

• is valid only at the restaurant of Makani Beach Club for the day it is issued and is only valid against purchases of food, not drinks
• cannot be accumulated, exchanged for cash and no change is given in the case of less than the voucher amount being spent

Equipment rental & insurance

• The renter agrees to use kitesurf equipment in a reasonable and safe manner
• Half day rental price is for the morning, the afternoon or a single session up to 2 hours. Keeping the equipment during the morning and afternoon or any number of sessions adding up to more than 2 hours in a single day counts as a full day rental
• The renter is obligated to present a valid kitesurf license to be able to rent equipment. If the renter is seen to not have the necessary skill to handle the rental gear, Makani Beach Club reserves the right to cancel the rental agreement
• Rental equipment must be packed and put back into storage after every session
• The renter is obliged to check the condition of rental gear before use and report any damage found before use
• Optional insurance is available for the rental gear. The equipment insurance at Makani Beach Club covers damage up to €250 per case of damage. For damages over €250 or total loss of equipment the renter is obligated to pay the difference between €250 and the cost of the total loss/damage. Any damage from compressor use is excluded from the insurance.
• Without insurance the renter must pay for any and all damage to the equipment they are responsible for, including potential total replacement of destroyed or lost equipment

Safety rules

• Please be advised that kitesurfing is considered an extreme sport and Makani Beach Club does not take responsibility for any kind of injury
• Makani Beach Club takes no responsibility for theft of or damage to guests personal belongings, including equipment kept in rented storage
• Please inform us if you have a known medical condition
• Kitesurfers should be able to swim for at least 15 minutes in deep water without aid
• Kitesurfers should follow the international rights of the way
• Every kitesurfer has to keep a safe distance of at least 50 meters to others, especially beginners
• Kitesurfing is not permitted in the teaching area
• Jumping with a kite within 50 meters of the beach is prohibited
• The rescue boat operates only in a deep water around the station area. Kiters should never kite further than the designated area of the station
• Kitesurf teaching is only allowed by approved team members of Makani Beach Club
• Dogs are welcome but must be kept on leash at all times. The owner is obligated to clean up after their pet
• Any behaviour, on or off the water, that is dangerous or infringes on the rights of other guests is unacceptable
• Makani Beach Club may suspend anyone for violating the safety rules and reserves the right to cancel any remaining activities (without refund or voucher) with the offending person(s)
