Makani Beach Club is located in El Gouna, Egypt, along the beautiful Red Sea coast. It’s just 30 minutes by car from Hurghada International Airport and a short drive from the town center. You can easily reach the club by taxi, private transfer, toktoks or our local shuttle services.
The values are based on natural, ecologic and real good food! It caters for everyone. You will find a selection of bowls, smoothies, sandwiches and pastas, as well as a nice variety of salads and main courses. We have vegan options as well.

We recommend the Group Courses if you would like to be with other people or the private lessons if you would like to have the instructor for you alone.
You will learn to control the kite and its power in a safe manner. Once you master the control of the kite, you will be taught how to get on the board.
We also strongly recommend the Makani Kite Camps where you will practice 4-5 hours on the water everyday during 6 days.
In the hourly based courses, you will book the exact hours you want or need. This is also what you will pay.
The kite camp is a 6 days week group course. You will practice around 4-5 hours per day. The groups will be made with other participants with similar level. The kite camps take place from fridays to wednesdays on specific dates. You can check the schedule here.
You will also do theory lessons during no wind days and excursions with the whole kite camp group.
In case there is no wind, the time will be used to do theory and explain a lot of things. Other no activities like foiing behind the boat or SUPing also will be done.
Yes, as we are a VDWS certified school, you can get a license after your course.
The price for the license including the VDWS Work Book is 50€.
The price for the license only is 35€.
Private hours and group course sessions can be refunded if they cannot be done.
Packages or discounted courses have no refund. Kite and wing camps also cannot be refunded. Note that with with the camps, other activities will be done during no wind time.
There will be refunds in case of an injury. You need to present a medical attest.
From December to March we recommend a 5/4 or 4/3 wetsuit.
From April/ May and October/November a 3/2 wetsuit will be a good choice.
During the summer month, June to September, the temperatures will be warm enough that you won’t need a wetsuit.
Please bring a wetshirt and boardshorts and enough Sun Cream to protect you against the sun.
We recommend you to bring neoprene shoes to protect your feet, because there might be some shells in the water. If you don’t like to wear shoes in the water, you can bring some slippers for setting up your gear at the beach.
Note that if you go without shoes in the water, you might step on a shell. We recommend to walk slowly without stepping hard while walking.
Try to fly to the airport of Hurghada. It is about 40 minutes away from Makani Beach Club, the spot and accommodations. Feel free to contact us for an airport shuttle.

The Rihana Hotel is a great hotel which is located next to Downtown. You will find many pools and sliders here, which makes it ideal for families and kids.

The Ocean View is located in the Abu Tig Marina and offers directly Red Sea views. It is an hotel only for adults. Kids need to be at least 16 years old.

Captains In, Ali Pasha, Turtles In are located in the Abu Tig Marina, a nice location with plenty of restaurants.

Rental
You have the possibility to rent your whole equipment at Makani Beach Club. There will be everything from wetsuits and harnesses to kites, boards and wingfoil equipment on site for you.
You will rent your equipment for the whole day and can change your kite and board sizes depending on the wind during the day. In the kite school you will always find someone who will give you tips and recommendations for the right equipment that suits you best.
The same applies for all the wingfoiling gear.
